Code 702344: Counterbearing 5th axis not locked

The Chiron Siemens-Control CNC has triggered a critical Counterbearing 5th axis not locked alarm. Immediate attention from a qualified operator or maintenance technician is required to prevent secondary damage to the equipment or spoiled parts during the manufacturing cycle. Always ensure standard safety and LOTO procedures are followed before accessing electrical cabinets.
Official Troubleshooting Steps
A movement command has been output for an axis (X,Y,Z) but the counterbearing of the 5th axis on the machining side is not yet clamped. The corresponding PLC input signal "5th axis counterbearing clamped" is not registered. The error has the following effect: Feed Stop No axis movements possible. Read disable Control reads no further program blocks into memory. If the sensor signals are correct within a monitoring period, the program run is continued. After the monitoring time has elapsed, the machine stops. 1. Check pressure switch "5th axis counterbearing clamped". 2. Check the PLC input signal "5th axis counterbearing clamped". Error messages Axes (>Z) Counterbearing 5th axis not locked 3. Check the PLC output signal "Clamp 5th axis counterbearing clamping". Check valve "Clamp 5th axis counterbearing". 4. As soon as the malfunction has been remedied, press [FEED START] or [CYCLE START] key. Message is cleared. The error messages 600512 and 600612 were allocated to 702336 and 702344 starting in 01/2006. In the case of old SW versions, however, these are still displayed.
