A manual tool is a tool whose data are known to the NCK but which is not assigned to a magazine location and is thus not fully accessible to the NCK, and usually also to the machine, for an automatic tool change. Reaction: Alarm display. Remedy: Make sure that the specified tool is removed fr om the toolholder. The alarm is cleared automatically after PLC acknowledgement of the tool change on co mmand. Manual tools can only be used efficiently if this is supported by the PLC program. Program Continuation: Alarm display showing cause of alarm disapp ears. No further operator action necessary.
