Code 510120: Max. chip conveyor coolant level

The Chiron Siemens-Control CNC has triggered a critical Max. chip conveyor coolant level alarm. Immediate attention from a qualified operator or maintenance technician is required to prevent secondary damage to the equipment or spoiled parts during the manufacturing cycle. Always ensure standard safety and LOTO procedures are followed before accessing electrical cabinets.

Official Troubleshooting Steps

Float switch "Coolant level chip conveyor MAX." signals maximum (signal state = 0). The switch is evaluated with a delay time (T40). The coolant tank has been overfilled. The PLC input signal "Coolant level chip conveyor MAX." is not registered.. Feed STOP and Spindle STOP The 1st coolant pump, the 2nd coolant pump, bed rinsing and the rinsing pump are switched off immediately. 1. Check the coolant level in the chip conveyor. 2. Check the actuation of the lifting pump (see note). 3. Check the float switch "Coolant level chip conveyor MAX" and the PLC input signal. 4. As soon as the malfunction is remedied, press one of the following keys: [FEED START] [CYCLE START] Message is cleared. Coolant level in the dirty water tank rises as soon as the lifting pump can no longer pump the accumulating coolant. Possible cause: The throttling in the lifting pipe is not set correctly. As soon as the float switch "coolant level in filter drum MIN” of the “VRF system” indicates “minimum", the vacuum pump is turned off. This means that coolant is running back into the dirty water tank and the level is increasing. In this case, also check the float switch "Coolant level filter drum MIN."
