The Chiron Siemens-Control CNC has triggered a critical Tool pocket occupied (1) alarm. Official Troubleshooting Steps
The tool magazine should travel to the spindle, but there is already a tool at the magazine place. (This situation normally only occurs if previously a serious operating fault of the tool changer has taken place). An incorrect spindle tool was defined. PLC input signal “magazine place free“ is not present. A tool was deposited at the wrong place while the magazine was being loaded. The error has the following effect: Feed Stop No axis movements possible. Read disable Control reads no further program blocks into memory. If the sensor signals are correct within a monitoring period, the program run is continued. After the monitoring time has elapsed, the machine stops. 1. Check whether there is a tool at the transfer place. If there is no tool at the transfer place, the PLC input signal "magazine place free" must be checked. The spindle tool and the tool in the magazine must be checked if there is a tool at the transfer place. 2. Remove the tools and insert correctly if necessary. NOTICE! Care must be taken here that the tools are deposited in the correct magazine place. 3. Check the setting of the ultrasound sensor according to the setting instructions. NOTICE! Adjustment should only be carried out by trained and instructed personnel. 4. As soon as the malfunction is remedied, press the following key: [FEED START] Message is cleared and the machining program can be continued. Error messages Tool change Tool pocket occupied (1)
