Code 700229: X-axis collision! (Check reference point)

Issue Description & Safety Warning

The Chiron Siemens-Control CNC has triggered a critical X-axis collision! (Check reference point) alarm. Immediate attention from a qualified operator or maintenance technician is required to prevent secondary damage to the equipment or spoiled parts during the manufacturing cycle. Always ensure standard safety and LOTO procedures are followed before accessing electrical cabinets.

Official Troubleshooting Steps

It has been determined that a collision has occurred on the machine. Note ! As a result of the collision, there is a danger that the axis reference points and the spindle positioning are no longer accurate. (Mechanical offset) The error message appears immediately. It should be determined on which axis a collision occurred (using the error message). Feed Stop in automatic and manual input modes. 1. Check the reference point and geometry of the axes. 2. Check the spindle concentricity and positioning. 3. Check the transfer positions of the tool changer. 4. The error message can be reset as follows on completing the check. 5. Switch to manual input mode. 6. Output M88. 7. Press [RESET] and [FEED START] at the same time. The axis on which a collision occurred is shown in the PLC status. There is then a (1) in the corresponding flag. M193.0 = X-axis M193.1 = Y-axis M193.2 = Z-axis For the purpose of adjustment or optimization of the axes this error message can be switched off by means of an M-function. This function is then effective until deselected or until the next RESET. M398 = error messages are not output or monitored. M399 = delete function M398. Miscellaneous Note ! No more indications regarding checking the reference point occur after this function is activated. There is no assurance that the reference point is still correct after a collision.
