Issue Description & Safety Warning
The Chiron Siemens-Control CNC has triggered a critical Mist collector fan faulty (1) alarm. Immediate attention from a qualified operator or maintenance technician is required to prevent secondary damage to the equipment or spoiled parts during the manufacturing cycle. Always ensure standard safety and LOTO procedures are followed before accessing electrical cabinets.
Official Troubleshooting Steps
Overcurrent release switch or the fault indicator contact on the exhaust fan has tripped. PLC input signal "Exhaust fan malfunction" is not registered. PLC output signal for actuating the exhaust fan was output, but the "switched on" return signal is missing. (Relay, contactor defective). Machining with oil: The error has the following effect: Feed Stop No axis movements possible. "Spindle Stop" Tool spindle is stopped. Speed no longer possible. Coolant Off Exhaust fan remains switched on. Machining with water: The error has the following effect as soon as the end of the machining program has been reached: Feed Stop No axis movements possible. "Spindle Stop" Tool spindle is stopped. Speed no longer possible. Coolant Off Exhaust fan remains switched on. For MT series: Channel-specific "Read-in stop" after pulling bar call ( M450 ) or workpiece counting pulse ( M60 ) on this channel. The other channel, respectively, continues to run until the next tool change or rapid feed ( G0 ). Coolant Off Exhaust fan remains switched on. 1. Check motor current and overcurrent release switch. 2. Check the malfunction signal contact of the exhaust fan (contamination, etc.). 3. Check actuation of relay and the contactor. 4. Check the PLC input signal "Exhaust fan malfunction". 5. As soon as the malfunction is remedied, press one of the following keys: [CYCLE START] [FEED START] Message is cleared. Machining with water: If need be, the program can be continued by acknowledging the error with the [FEED START] key (but only up to the next end of program). The operator will be reminded of this at every end of program. Malfunction can be remedied at an appropriate point in time.
